What is the Residential Permit Parking program?

What is the Residential Permit Parking program?

This program is designed to improve parking availability for neighborhood residents.

How does the program work?

An eligible vehicle owner can purchase a permit which allows unrestricted parking on blocks with time limits.  The permit is only applicable in the district specified on the sticker and only on blocks posted with permit parking signs.

Who is eligible for a parking permit?

Permits can be issued for a vehicle whose owner and principal driver resides within an existing district as designated by City Council.  The vehicle must display a valid Pennsylvania license plate and be registered to the owner's home address in that district.

Application for the annual permit may be made through the mail or you can go to the Parking Authority at 3101 Market Street on the 2nd Floor. They are open Monday through Friday between 8:30AM - 4:45PM.

You will need to bring your vehicle registration, proof of your address (all documents must reflect the address where you are attempting to purchase the permit), and $35.00 for the cost of the permit.
