TRANSPORTATION & PUBLIC UTILITIES (including Streets, Water, Airport)

The Mayor’s Office of Transportation and Utilities works hard to make sure that Philadelphians can get where they are going, no matter how they choose to get there; be it by foot, bike, car or transit. It endeavors to ensure that Philadelphia’s water, electricity and gas systems are of the highest caliber.  To do so MOTU makes sure that the investments and plans that affect the city’s infrastructure and the people who use it are done with a shared vision of increased mobility and sustainability. The Mayor’s Office of Transportation does not directly provide city services, instead it makes sure that those departments that fix the city’s pot holes and maintain runways, the authorities that run its subways and agencies that deliver water and gas work together for a brighter, greener future.
